Michael Hennemann, born in 1973, paddles, lives and works in Kiel, Germany. He discovered his enthusiasm for wilderness travel and kayaking during his training as a photo-technical assistant in Freiburg. On his first trips he explored the Black Forest and the mountains close to the border of France and Switzerland.
He then started his studies of geography. Back to the north of Germany he has also moved closer to his most beloved travel destination. He has explored Scandinavia on expanded routes and at all seasons for more than seven years: by bike, on foot, with the kayak or with snow shoes.
Since 2001 he works as as freelance travel writer and photographer and has reported about his travel experiences in numerous magazine publications and travel books.
